Power has been restored to hundreds of Fairfield County residents who lost electricity after strong winds moved into the area bringing down trees and wires.

Around 7 a.m. Thursday, UI reported 2,752 without power in Bridgeport, and 2,308 in Stratford. By 9 a.m. power had been restored to all in both cities. UI is currently reporting six outages in Fairfield and one in Trumbull.

At 5 a.m, Eversource reported more than 400 customers without power in Newtown, New Canaan, New Milford, Redding, and Weston. By 9 a.m. the outages were down to a handful with the highest being 25 in Newtown.
